The Challenge
Sustainable farming is part of the mosiac that makes up our great state of Washington. Rich soil is under our fingernails. And we reap the benefits daily, perhaps without realizing it. As our region grows at a breakneck pace, our landscape is changing. Quickly, local farms are falling out of the picture. The PCC Farmland Trust is working to preserve sustainable farms while it is still possible, but most people are unaware of the ongoing struggle to protect local food production, and what is at stake if we do nothing.
The Solution
PCC Farmland Trust asked us to create a hero video that could capture the essence of the issue and inspire people to rise up for local farms. To create an authentic voice we engaged farmers and encouraged them to tell their stories. We criss-crossed western Washington, capturing majestic farm landscapes using drone cameras and creating intimate portraits of the farmers using slow motion capture and close-up photography. The result was impactful imagery and an credible voice that conveys the tremendous benefits of keeping farmlands close to home.

The 5-minute video was used as a part of a 26 million dollar fundraising campaign and to spread awareness among residents in the Puget Sound area.
