Ecotourism for Birders | Strategy, Branding & Film

National Audubon Society & Inter-American Development Bank

Audubon’s ecotourism program helps people explore birding hotspots around the world while supporting local communities. By training local guides and helping them build their own businesses, the program creates jobs, boosts rural economies and encourages long-term protection of bird habitats beyond the usual birding routes. It’s a simple but powerful idea: when residents benefit from keeping their natural areas healthy, it’s good for both people and wildlife.

When Audubon asked us to help spark interest among their members, we set out to create outreach materials in English and Spanish that captured both the beauty and purpose of this work. We designed brochures and maps for newly created birding trails and produced short videos showcasing each destination. Our aim was to show off the incredible species that get birders packing their binoculars, while highlighting the conservation impact that sets Audubon’s ecotourism program apart from the rest.
